Tuned Nissan GT-R Models Itself on Fire in London and It’s The entire Drama You Need

We’re many (too many?) months away from getting contemporary automobile film content material – Quick 9, arguably probably the most anticipated manufacturing of the type of all occasions, has been pushed again to April 2021 and could possibly be delayed even additional – however right here’s the closest factor. A tuned Nissan GT-R R35 set itself on fireplace in London and the ensuing video delivers on-the-edge-of-your-seat-type leisure akin to Vin Diesel’s on-screen stunts.

CHP Officers Train for Winter by Doing Donuts in Their Dodge Charger

Who said cops are all about raining on a car enthusiast’s parade? Well, they usually are, but not in this particular instance.

The latest video from CHP Truckee, which is actually a PSA on the need to start training and preparing for winter driving, is proof that cops can also have fun.

Truckee in California usually has very harsh winters, so it makes sense to have the local CHP (California Highway Patrol) issue a PSA on the need to train for winter driving (hat tip to The Drive for this awesome video). The rather strange thing here is that they’re doing it with a video that shows a CHP Dodge Charger doing burnouts and burning rubber on a closed track circuit, with an Elf on the Shelf at the wheel.

The Elf is apparently some type of local celebrity. His name is Gunther and, as the public service announcement video will have you know, he’s “training for winter driving.” “Aren’t you?”

Because Gunther is part of the force, his winter driving training involves doing burnouts in a Dodge Charger, as a means to learn how to control the car better. Presumably, every other driver out there preparing for winter behind the wheel shouldn’t emulate that. So this is a case of “do as we say, not as we do.”

At the end of the day, this is just a fun, silly video that aims to draw attention to the need to adjust your driving to existing road/weather conditions, and it’s doing so with something out of the ordinary. The fact that the whole thing is set to Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone,” made famous as the song from the 1986 Top Gun, gives the PSA a decided ‘80s retro rock vibe, and we’re here for it.
Rock on!

Real ’65 Shelby 427 Cobra Competition Stops By Jay Leno’s While Fleeing Wildfire

Just 23 examples of Carroll Shelby’s AC Cobra were produced in true Competition specification according to Jay Leno, and this black unit is a true survivor on its own – landing in the famous TV presenter and car aficionado’s garage for a quick respite from the devastating California wildfires. Naturally, it’s also the perfect opportunity for a quick presentation and even a street drive with the roaring 427 cu in unsettling everything in its path.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Vs. Tesla Model Y Performance is a Drag Race It Must Win

Are there still people out there who haven’t come to grips with what Chevrolet has done to the new Corvette? There must be; otherwise, where do all the comments you read on every C8 Corvette video come from saying how wonky its proportions are?

It’s just like we tell our kids whenever they see an ugly person: they’re not ugly; they’re slightly different. Except in C8’s case, it’s genuinely real. There aren’t many mid-engine cars out there that are sore to look at, so what were the chances that Chevrolet would make one? Well, considering they don’t have that much experience, there were some, but they seem to have dodged that bullet, and then some.

But there’s more to this layout than looks. You could even say that’s a side bonus with performance and handling topping the list. Placing that big 6.2-liter V8 engine in front of the rear axle moves the car’s weighty stuff much closer to its core while also lowering the center of gravity. It also frees up the front of any constraints caused by the need to feed air to the engine allowing much-improved aerodynamics.

The more you think about it, the more you realize the question isn’t “why did Chevrolet turn the Corvette into a mid-engine sports car?” but “why didn’t they do it sooner?”. Somewhere, we’re sure there’s an answer.

As for its opponent for the day, you probably already know everything about it. The Tesla Model Y Performance is like one of those guys that look harmless but mess with them, and you find out the hard way they have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Nothing about it screams, “performance.” OK, nothing apart from its name…

Pit the two together in a drag race, though, and the Chevy should win it. The quintessential American sports car should hit the 60 mph mark under three seconds, which is at least four-tenths of a second quicker than its electric rival. However, this particular race does take place at one mile above sea level (thank you, Colorado), meaning its performance could take a bit of a hit.

Well, think of the slightly rarefied air as a field-leveling handicap that will only make the contest all the more exciting, and you’re not far from the truth. That’s because the Model Y couldn’t care less about the density of oxygen and nitrogen molecules around it – to the point where it would have no problem driving on the moon.

If you thought the drag race was interesting, make sure you continue watching the clip because there’s more to come. The current lap record holder on the TFL Car circuit is a C7 Corvette (of the Grand Sport variant), which immediately begs the question: can the 2020 C8 model beat it? And, if so, by how much? All answers in the video below.

Nissan 350Z

Z-badged models from Nissan are held in high regard by many car enthusiasts

What Do You Think Of This Stanced Nissan 350Z?

In the U.S., there’s one example that is more eye-catching than most but, to put it mildly, is bound to split opinions.

We first came across this bright green Nissan 350Z while browsing through the always-entertaining Shitty_Car_Mods section Reddit. With a quick search on Instagram, we were able to find some additional photos and videos.

Owned by Instagram user thats_gvbe, this 350Z immediately stands out because of the insane amounts of camber it has on the front and, in particular, the rear wheels. It’s part of the ‘stance’ scene where cars are given bewildering amounts of negative camber. This 350Z has so much negative camber that only the very inside edge of the tires makes contact with the road.

It’s not just the stance that makes this Nissan stand out. The Japanese sports car has been equipped with a widebody kit and also has custom front and rear bumpers and new side skirts. The wheels themselves have a chrome finish and the car appears to have been recently adorned with a bright green wrap. Before, it had a custom paint job with rainbow-colored metallic flakes.

While the modifications aren’t to our particular taste, the owner clearly loves his car and that’s all that really matters. The same can be said about the stance scene in general. It sure rubs many enthusiasts the wrong way, yer there are many people that love nothing more than aftermarket wheels and ridiculous amounts of negative camber.

Georgia Goat Police Car Video Breaks – USA

This goat wasn’t kidding around: Georgia farm animal jumps into a cop car, chews papers, spills a drink, then head-butts deputy

A sheriff’s deputy in Georgia had a run-in with the baddest of the bad last week when she returned to her cruiser to find a goat had taken over.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the unnamed deputy was serving civil papers at a home during the encounter. She typically leaves her car door open as she’s had to retreat from “vicious dogs” in the past.

Once the goat had been successfully removed from the car, it proceeded to headbutt the deputy, knocking her to the ground.

The Douglass County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy was not physically harmed during the incident.

“At the end of the day we all got a little laugh out of it and we hope you do as well”

said the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
